Biography
I am a senior at Centerpoint High School, located between Glenwood and Amity in southwest Arkansas, and I am the youngest member of the FFA officer team.
After graduation, I plan to attend Henderson State University and major in Aviation.
I’ve grown up on a family farm located outside Alpine. My parents are Brian and Nan Kirksey, and I have one sister, Kathryn, who is a registered nurse.
My parents have owned and operated our farm for over twenty-five years. We have a diversified operation that includes cattle, horses, forestry and an extensive nursery business.
In 2008, our family was selected as Arkansas Farm Family of the Year and Southeastern Region Farm Family of the Year. I spend a lot of my time working on the farm and for the Alpine Water Authority of which my father is manager.
I’m involved with several school organizations including BETA club, EAST, and trap shooting. I also played basketball for several years. I am a member of the Amity United Methodist Church where I am involved in the youth group.
I’ve been involved with the FFA from the beginning of eighth grade. I have shown market steers and commercial heifers for seven years. Also, I’ve competed in Forestry and Prepared Public Speaking CDE’s.
I am excited to be one of your state officers, and I look forward to meeting you during my year of service as State FFA Secretary.
